Depart from Blackbushe Airport for an aerial tour of the historical sites of Hampshire and Wiltshire.
Heading towards Amesbury pass over the world heritage site of Stonehenge, and onto the county of Wiltshire where we encounter the first of our White Horses at Westbury. These chalk horses are often found underneath Iron Age Hill Forts, looking out across the gently sloping downs.
White Horses can also be seen at Devizes and Milk Hill before proceeding to Avebury and Silbury Hill with it’s proliferation of Stone Circles, Barrows, Hill Forts and, when in season, Crop Circles.
We head for home passing over Highclere Castle, one of England’s most beautiful Victorian mansions and surrounded by parkland landscaped by Capability Brown.
The above tour will take approximately 1 hour to complete, however you may wish to extend this to include the medieval town of Salisbury to see the Iron Age Hill Fort of Old Sarum before proceeding to fly over England’s finest Cathedral with it’s graceful spire, famed for being the tallest in Britain. En-route to the barrows and White Horses of Wiltshire you could also see the Regimental Badges and the unusual hexagonal ruins of Old Wardour Castle which stands in its own lake-side setting, protected by acres of wood.
